Futuristic conceptual projects like “paper” monitor which can be folded or super-elastic phones which screen can be twisted in the pipe now cannot surprise anybody. Markus J. Becker worked out the series of super flat lightings Perelin series lamps which can also be bent and twisted and modeled of them the various variants of table or wall lamps.

In this case not innovative “electronic paper” but electroluminescent glossy sheets of material which was used exceptionally in outward advertising but was a little changed and improved by industrial designers for their and our consumer purposes.

Soft light illuminations of these elastic lamps do not provide you the full-fledged illumination in the room but as an outside “oblique” light, – night lamp, additional decorative light or like built-in daylight lamps, – Perelin lamps will fulfill this perfectly. Moreover they can be considered to power efficient and it means that the economy in complex with uncommon stylish appearance plays into the hands of this project and its author, designer Markus J. Becker.

Perelin lamps were awarded with the iF material award 2010 and Red Dot award: product design 2010, nominated for the Designpreis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland 2011.
