Sleepy Chair by Daisuke Motogi

All over the world people are sure that it is necessary to sleep on the bed or if the worst comes to the worst on the sofa, to sit – on the stool and if absolutely comfortable – on the armchair. Only designer Daisuke Motogi from Japan is not agree with this opinion and is sure that it is possible to sleep great in the armchair. Of course if this is created by her Sleepy Chair, some armchair for sleeping.

There is nothing complicated in this project: this is armchair which looks like the sofa folded into the concertina with the back-pillow that you have something to lean on. But at the same time the sleeping armchair is so big and so comfortable that it is possible to fall asleep in it like in the bed. The soft upholstery allows feeling yourself as a princess on the pea. At least, according to Daisuke Motogi’s words. The project was presented at DesignTide Tokyo 2010 earlier and immediately caught the attention of producers and consumers.

It is not difficult to guess that this is Japanese work by the minimalist design and laconic and at the same time bright white color of armchair. By the way, the designers consider that such armchair is able to create the atmosphere of warmness, coziness and happiness and it means that the sleeping on this armchair will also be comfortable and happy.
