Amsterdam designer Laurens van Wieringen will show their new work at the Salone del Mobile in the new area Ventura Lambrate, Milan. The collection presented by Laurens this year will be his most recent furniture designed for private clients and production labels. A striking cabinet to commemorate a dear person, a playful chair for a lucky girl, something fruity for your table, wall and floor lamps for the office & home.
Called Stacking Throne, the seat can be lowered as the child grows by removing up to four of the foam components, which can then be used as toys or reconfigured into shelving.
The Stacking Throne was a private commission and especially designed for 1 year old girl, Bodile. She can now use it throughout her life. 4 of 5 foam parts can be taken out and used as her imagination suits her.
Laurens van Wieringen started his own design studio in Amsterdam in 2003. His attitude towards design encourages startling and refreshing ideas. He is a defiant explorer of shapes and materials by using, inventing or twisting production methods; I try to offer a surrounding, atmosphere in which people can feel pleasant, have a laugh or are misguided for a moment, to trigger people to do what they feel like doing. Laurens has specialized himself in interior design. Working for and collaborate with companies to visualize their identity in the interior is an absolute joy.
